About the Job 

 

A Jr. SW Tester is expected to perform manual testing of  software features following test scripts. The employee will work as a black box tester or unit tester. These two methods imply that he/she does not know the code and will test the system as a whole or as individual functional units. The Jr. SW Tester will look for problems and bugs in the application that users may encounter and help developers find solutions to the issues. The person in this position will participate in regular meetings to discuss the bugs found between meetings, which will help the employee fine-tune his/her bug finding abilities and learn how to report them on a rapidly changing development environment.

The testing will consist of iterations of test scripts that need to be manually executed on a regular basis. As part of the role, the Jr. SW Tester will identify and update the test scripts on time frames dedicated to this task.

What You Will Get to Do

 

• Manually test new software features following test scripts. 

• Identify problems and bugs in the application that final users may encounter. 

• Meet with the team leader regularly to report the bugs found. 

• Describe in a synthesized manner the steps to reproduce the bugs found. 

• Upload to our Bug Management Tool the bugs that were indicated by the team leaders.  

• Update and maintain the test scripts on time frames dedicated to this task.

What You Will Bring to the Table 

​

• Technical high school, 2-year associate degree or junior level engineering student on electronics, software or related.  

• Strong written and verbal English skills (B2 minimum)

• Team Player

• Strong Problem-Solving Skills

• Knowledge of basic office applications (MS Office) 

• Ability to synthesize and describe complex scenarios in a few words.
